Newbie alert...

Happy with the camera side of things, but fairly new to Raw and all the PP that comes with it. Shot a friend's wedding recently and would love to put together a slideshow to music on a DVD. Shot in Raw and jpeg and have been playing around with trial versions of Lightroom Elements, Photoshop Elements and Premier Elements. I am a teacher, so I can purchase these cheaply with an educational licence, as long as I like the packages and can make sense of how to use them...

LRE - organise, batch process, sharpen, reduce noise, convert Raw to jpeg or tiff.
PSE - fine detail touch ups, tricky things that I might not be able to do in LE.
Premier Elements - make a slideshow with top quality images (jpeg or tiff) and professional looking title, transitions and credits, burn to DVD which can be played on a TV as well as a computer.

Have I got that right so far? It's taken me a while over the past few days to get used to LR but so far I have been impressed with the noise reduction and sharpening. I am sure I will speed up with time. I was impressed with LR's slideshow but the inability to put more than one track to the show was limiting for me. I am very familiar with Windows Moviemaker but want something that is less amateurish and produces a higher quality product (I hate the pixelation you get with WMM during the transitions between images).

Am I looking at the right tools for the job? And if you have time, perhaps you could summarise an efficient workflow for someone like me (a novice) doing what I am trying to achieve (especially with LR and Premier elements)?

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice you can give.

Neil
