Raw & Jpeg in LR3

OK, be gentle with me.

When I shoot with RAW & Jpeg and then import the photograph into LR I can only seem to access the RAW (converted to DNG) file. I note from the EXIF that the Jpeg is the side car file. How do I access the Jpeg so that I can process both and compare?

In Preferences, select General, and about half way down the box should be a tick box that states "Treat JPEG's next to RAW as separate images". This should be ticked
