Ok so I am now shooting in RAW due the the amount of "plus's" pointed out here
When I open from "bridge" in CS3 you get a few options for manipulation. That done I then click "open Image" for a few more tweaks which opens in photo shop CS3 I do the biz then resize & save as a Jpeg copy. then click " donot save changes" All OK so far.
When I open the original raw file I find that the adjustments made in that stage have infact been saved. I would prefer to keep the original untouched RAW to "play with" again
what am I missing?
Cheers

Here goes.

When you have done your changes in ACR and click "Open Image" thats when it saves the settings on your RAW file.

The "Dont Save" dialogue in Photoshop is only referring to what you have done in Photoshop not ACR, as they are separate programs.

If in bridge you right click your RAW image with the saved settings, in the menu that appears select "Develop settings", then "Clear settings" it will clear all the settings from the RAW file / files selected.

Leaving the settings on the RAW file doesn't matter as when you open it next time you can readjust them or remove them all then.

hope this helps.

Its so easy when you know how :D
That was Just what I was looking for!
Thanks MHO!
