I'm having some problems with photoshop/lightroom. My raw files (as of yesterday) all open up with settings pre adjusted. To my knowledge I've not clicked anything so I don't understand why it's suddenly changed.

Examples

This photo is one as opened prior to yesterday, with the settings as they should be upon opening a raw.

This photo is the image opened today, and the settings that are coming up without me ever editing or opening the photo before.

This is happening in both lightroom and adobe camera raw, and is happening to every photo, whether it's taken today or taken a year ago.

Anyone have any ideas how to stop this happening? Or what I've clicked on? Thanks in advance!

Hi Jake

I see the photo is a Mac so presume it's that version you're using?

From Lightroom> Preferences> Presets> do you have "Apply auto tone adjustments" selected?

Have you applied and adjusted "Default develop settings"?

Are you applying any "Import Preset" when you import images?

As Yv said - our posts crossed over so interested in the outcome....

Instead of deleting, why not explain what the problem was in case anyone else has/does something similar in the future and is looking for an answer?

Sure thing :)

I think Adrian has nailed it with his second point also.
The problem was caused by the default settings for the raw editor being changed. I don't know how I did it initially though!
It was a simple issue to solve, just pulling all the sliders down to where they should have been and saving as the new defaults.

Hopefully this will help someone in the future.

Thanks Adrian for your help also :)
