Edit My Images
No
I have just purchased a second hand canon 1000D.

I went out all excited and took some pictures of my daughter horse riding only to find when i came home and uploaded the shots to my PC that the camera was on RAW mode :(

The camera didn't come with a software disc :'( and you cannot download the program from the canon site. Does anyone know of a free program that i can download to enable me to view and alter these files to jpeg so that i can show them off

Download the 14-day free trial of Lightroom from the Adobe website. That will sort you out ;)

Freestone image viewer is good for free, i use it to look through my images and you can edit them as well, if you double click to get full screen and then drag your cursor to the left and youll get a list of options.

Think you mean faststone. ;)

Sorted now, thank you for all your help!

I've used Irfanview also, can batch process and has some basic manipulation tools

It would help if you could get a Canon solutions disc as you would be able to update from their website once all the programs are installed. There's a RAW file reader included on the disc as well as image manipulation programs and you'd be able to check the EXIF details for your photos.
