raw file and jpeg in aperture

Switching between RAW as Master and JPEG as Master just now they looked the same to me really.

Depends if Aperture can develop the RAW file in exactly the same way as the camera by default. Lightroom certainly doesn't - you have to apply the processing to the image to make it look how you want. Also, Adobe don't have access to Canons algorithms so any auto development by the software would need to be reverse engineered. I suspect Aperture is the same.
 
so would DPP be better for processing the Raw file because its cannon software and hardware?
 
thanks,I went for Aperture 3 in the end as it suits what i want to do. i appreciate everyones input .
