RAW Converter For CS3

Iv been recommended to shoot in RAW for weddings etc, But Iv just taken a sample shot as a RAW file and it wont open on CS3, is there anything I can do to get a RAW converter?

If you own CS5, the period wouldn't have run out ;)

Your flow needs to be modified.

Read off camera->DNG converter in the link I posted->CS3

This will work.

Iv got the DNG converter downloaded, and it wont find the image even though iv put it on desktop for it to be found easier.

As the thread I linked to above says, D7000 support was introduced in Camera Raw 6.3, so you need CS5 to use it.
 
Whoops, 4.6 supports D700 - I was missing a zero, always did find Nikons confusing ! :)
 
Version 6.3 is the version I need to install but I`m unaware of how to install it into my CS3 Program. :[
 
No, the original advice you were given is correct 4.6 is the latest version that will work with CS3, and that doesn't support your camera !

So, you've possibly got four (?) solutions


  • Upgrade to CS5 and install the latest Camera RAW converter
  • Use Adobe DNG converter
  • Use the s/w that came with your camera ?
  • Change your camera

There may be third party converters about - other will have more knowledge than me.
