Should i set my camera to 3:2 or 16:9 , which is widely used or does it not matter.
When i look through the veiwfinder does the screen chang shape in relation to 3:2 or 16:9 ?

Personally I would set your camera to whatever ratio the sensor is by default.

I think the A390 is a 3x2 sensor so you should keep it at that (also a pretty standard size...). Setting 16x9 will just crop the end result (ie throw a bunch of pixels away!), better to have to pixels available to crop yourself.
 
3x2 is by far the most common. Off the shelf 16x9 frames don't seem to exist, plus cropping a 16x9 image into 3x2 later leaves you with a much smaller image than you could have had just by setting it in camera.

I shall stay with 3x2 if that is the most common .
