Janice, I work on ATM's for a major high street bank. If the money is not taken out after a certain time limit, the machine takes the money back in again and places it into an 'unclaimed monies' drawer. This will be listed on the journal roll of the ATM.

Call your bank and tell them which ATM it was and the time & date. If it was a branch ATM, the staff will be able to confirm this and you will get the £100 credited back. If it was an ATM at Tesco's or similar, whoever refills the ATM will report back to the bank that money has been 'unclaimed'.

If on the other hand, some snidey b****rd has sneaked off with £100, you could ask if they've got CCTV or similar on the ATM.

Thank you Adam, and everyone else too.

Its a bit difficult to identify the next person who mightve used the machine, because if they went their for, say £50, then saw £100 sticking out, they would take that and not even put their card in...so no transaction would show at all.....rendering it impossible to trace them.

It was a tiny little tesco express garage with a little store.

The HSBC lady has taken my account no, and sort code and said she would start an investigation......but how can she if she doesnt even know the time, place or anything else?

I will ring again tomorrow and give them those details I think.
 
Replacing the infrared absorption filter infront of a sensor yourself and you will find that when you take your pictures stopped down you will see black dots. Your gonna find it incredibly hard to not get dust trapped between sensor & filter.

Well, guys.....Ive been waiting for the third thing to happen (sensor, cash machine) and now it has.

My husband woke me up this morning at 5:30 showing me a piece of paper ....."whats this?" he said.... i woke up and looked, it was a mistaken speeding fine for someone who now owns a car we used to have.

He had sorted it out with DVLC the other day.

I looked at him, told him he'd sorted it, .... he didnt understand what I was saying.

we went downstairs, he kept looking at invoices, asking if he'd done the driving for them, "what did I do yesterday?", "where's my phone?".."what have I got to do today?, ""it just went on and on and on.

Question after question.

He mustve asked the same 10 questions about 15 times each.

He just didnt have a clue what was going on.

It was truly scarey. :'(

A bit like someone with Altzheimers, really.



There was no way I was letting him drive like that, he couldnt remember the names of the places he had to go.

I took a day off and I did all the deliveries, with him in the passenger seat.... he slowly improved as the day wore on,, and is now back to normal, if feeling completely exhausted.



Just sheer stress of hard work, long hours - averaging 15 hrs a day,

driven 7,000 miles in the last month,

top that off with huge financial worries and being nearly 70 years old .............

everything just went "kaboom" I think.


Hopefully it doesnt repeat itself... that was one scarey morning. :eek:

NOW..... I'VE HAD MY 3 THINGS......AND I'M WAITING FOR OUR LUCK TO CHANGE.............

Bloody hell Janice... things can surely only get better for you now. Maybe hubby needs some time off or a trip to his GP? :shrug:

Sounds like a TIA...transient ischaemic attack....go see GP and get his blood pressure checked. TIA's usually clear up after a few hours, but definately needs investigating. May never happen again, but best be sure. Worth getting blood sugar checked too, as might have been a bit low, which can cause mild confusion. Hope he's ok now.
 
oh crikey Janice, hope everything rights itself ... I'd say you've had your share of bad luck for quite some time, and used up a few other people's in the act!!
 
Hmmm, I feel for you at the moment janice. My life has been purrrritty similar recently. Just as I sorted one nightmare out another has come along and knocked me back down again. It's such a soap opera cliche and I hate saying it, trying to stay positive about stuff is the best thing you can do!
 
Janice what a really crappy time you've had lately. fingers crossed you get the sensor sorted out and the money replaced without too much more hassle. As for hubby - GP as soon as possible I would think - not something to be playing about with that sort of confusion and better safe than sorry.

Well I must say he's a bit naughty, whenever I pick up his tablets at the doctors they always say "Try to get him to come down for blood pressure check and blood test" but I can never get him to, because he goes off so early and comes back so late, they are never open!

Ive just given him a *****ing and told him that half a day's work missed isnt more important than his health.
