Rant

Nothing more to add from me. Futility is suggesting to the Daily Mail faithful that checking alternate sources may result in different accounts.

I get it just fine.

I actually contributed to this thread, but you take it upon yourself to tell me to 'leave her be' as if I was attacking the OP, which I clearly wasn't.

If you've got nothing useful to contribute how about you 'click back and move on'.

Attack, not quite, but your first 2 posts in this thread were to tell the OP how futile her rant is.
It might seem futile to you, but clearly to her, and others who posted in agreement it is not. Sometimes a rant can just make you feel better.

Ruth is correct i wrote the thread to get it off my chest...it is very hard to keep quiet but if you do say anything to him he is full of answers. and then his wife and kids suffer so i ranted on here next time i will find a wall and bang my head off it.

 How can they suffer more than what they are already Terri, if what you say is correct. Imho, rant or not, if this is really getting to you then you either say something to his wife, or you report him for hassling you for money and give them the facts, end of

Rich..i had his wife here for the first time since before Christmas on Sunday evening we (another pal) talked to her about it. how can he make it worse.. he doesn't hit or abuse her but controls everything she does and what the kids do. he'll not ask me for money again i can say that. she has just cancelled a lunch date for next week with us as she isn't allowed to come.. just small things like that.

I think it's clear that this is not a DM made up story.

Also, I don't think anyone here supports people who illegally don't pay tax? I avoid tax as best I can via my accountant, as I am sure you do. I think 99% of us agree that people like rothermere should pay more tax, or even some tax. But by the same token, this woman is equally as bad as he is, in fact I would say worse as at least he makes a contribution with jobs etc.

Based on your stance, I assume that you NEVER buy from Starbucks, Vodafone or Amazon who also evade tax?

I could weep. Can't the posts regarding the woman who had her kids in litters go in THAT thread? :(

Ah right Terri, one of them eh? Needs a bit of a slap then :D But then in saying that there could be a whole lot of issues that you and indeed I dont know about. It is not something that can just be sorted. He may just be the jealous type, has he ever worked? Did he lose his job and struggled to get another one? Perhaps he has lost his self esteem  hard to say. Perhaps he has always been like this  Although not so often now, my wife still sometimes asks me, is it ok or you dont mind if I do such and such or go here/there, simply because of the way she was treated before. Like I say Terri there can be so many governing factors when a relationship becomes like this, that it needs to be discussed on more of a professional level. Your friend needs to give him the chance to get it sorted out or else she is going to be living the rest of here life out with him in bloody misery, if he refuses then she needs to be strong enough to give him an ultimatum as a wake up call. What do I know anyway

All true Rich but we can only try and help her and that is what we are doing and i would love to slap the pillock

Yes I know....I thought saying it again might make it actually happen.
:lol::lol:

If this happened in a few countries i know, people will be out in force protesting and getting the laws changed.

Unfortunately in this country all that happens is that people will mourn for a few days on internet forums and everything will be forgotten within a few days.

Six months later another similar story will appear again in a newspaper and people will be back mourning about it for a few days then it is forgotten again.. and the process goes on and on and on...

The government knows very well that this is what happens and which is why they are not doing anything about it because this is a very risky topic. A bad move can result in the loss of quite a few votes.

Having said that, i personally think that the money we are loosing from benefits cheats is peanuts compared to the millions we are loosing from tax dodgers and the white collar crimes that you never hear about in newspapers.
