RANT: arrogant 'knowitall' photographers

I've stopped posting in this thread because I've received a lot of flaming for my attitude toward the subject, so I'd just rather stay quiet. :)

Ultimately in life you should always try and do what you think is right. I think the way you phrased the title and the delivery got you in a bit of trouble in this thread, but intentions were good and no harm done.

For the record, I think initially offering advice in this situation was no bad thing.

So you complain on an open forum about something. People disagree. You say you've been flamed.
Still can't see why you can't post the original conversation, if you're so sure you're in the right.

Well to be honest, I posted to see if people had had similar experiences. Turns out some have, which was good to know. Others weren't too fond of my actions and that's fine. I'm not asking for people to take sides, but some people have been rude, which I don't expect from this community. That's why I've chosen to stay quiet. That okay?

I didn't think anyone was rude.

Some typical British opinions being thrown about here, "laissez-faire and stay the hell out of my business!". Fine, I hope you all go skydiving without parachutes ;)

I thought wales was part of Britain? Will you therefore be taking your own advice about parachuting?

How are people to know if they have had similar experiences when we don't actually know how it "went down"/what your actions were.

You come across as though you think everyone should abide by your mindset and values, and seemingly can't take criticism after you have given it, but you can do whatever you want. I just wanted to see the actual conversation; I might even side with you!

Sorry if it feels like an interrogation but with every reply you post it just makes me want to see the original subject matter!

I'm calling for a screenshot of said antics, anyone else feeling that?

Eddzz, next time you see someone out in the rain with their camera tell them, with a smile, it won't be long before it can do the backstroke.

Judge from their reaction and personality whether to offer advice: They may be experienced enough to know what they're doing (fair enough), they may just be an awkward type (smile and walk away) or they might be a beginner on their first outing who could be about to ruin their first camera.
