Yes
Here it comes...

I got into london this morning for client meeting on site at Kings Cross... (Im in Contracting industry) Just about to enter the site...

Rounded a corner and trod on a shattered palette one of the nails managed to miss my thick heal and safety midsole and enter the rear of my boot through the upper at the back of the heel.

So I now have hole in the rear of my heel near tendon and a foot like a balloon not to mention boot full of blood.

And its the Marwell meet this Saturday... But I will still be attending will just be walking like a penguin.

Plus side is I do not have pent up anger any more as I came across the halfwit that left the remnants of the palette there... He was in the tea hut with nice hot cup of tea....

By the time I had finished my verbal assault I had quite successfully melted his face off...

Rant over normal service resuming...

Nigel.

OUCH:thumbsdown:

OOOOOOOOOUUUUUCH!!

At least you got "pass on" your thoughts.

Dont think Mr Wax face like the idea of me sharing my views though....

I think some of the words I used left him with a strong urge to find a dictionary and copy of Heath and Safety at work Act...

GOOD! Perhaps next time he's thinking "sod that, I'll sort it after a cuppa", he'll remember and think again.

I work in a cushy artsy environment now but I used to work in metalwork fabrication and we all depended on each other to make stuff safe. Once in a while someone didn't and the results were never nice.

I hope you filled out the accident book!

/works in construction also ;)

Dude! Harsh
Make sure you get it seen by a doctor. Just in case it gets infected
Hope it gets better soon

i have a workmate who had a nail go in his foot he didnt get it checked got infected and nearly lost his foot, now has all sorts of health problems

"Just about to enter the site"...

So you weren't on site? I think you could get someone into a lot of trouble here...

(get some money out of it, buy more shiny camera gear)

I often hear people moaning about all the health & safety stuff in this country, . . . but then you get to meet a "****ing muppet" (technical term) in action and you know why we have to have all the health & safety stuff

£ £ £ £ £, its what they have insurance for, shame to let it go to waste

Please ensure your Tetanus jab is up to date.

Been to see the lovely darts players my local clinic.... Heavy handed nurse just scored double top in my Rump...

Now I have something else to moan about..

Re-Claim... I could but I would feel very guilty as I just got paid out 2k for whiplash.

Plus the way I look at it "You dont bite the hand that feeds you" its a very tight industry I work in and people can loose favor very quickly.... I would rather have the good monthly income than a quick win.

Cheers

Nigel.

I am a senior project engineer/manager... after site meeting with client this situation was raised with on site SQE and the bad news for them is at the same time as me having a rant they were just beginning a HSE audit.

Might have some implications...

Oopps

Normally that would be classed as a "both feet in mouth" moment, but considering your injury it will only be foot!

Hope the "darts session" prevents anything serious developing. I imagine walking will be interesting for a few days - so perhaps you could get an electric buggy at Marwell? Now there is an excuse for playing :D

The company I was having a dig at is a sub contractor to my client. So I was not putting my foot in my mouth just assisting them with their own Limb insertion....

Should help them with their site house keeping...
