Random Question - did your Wii come with a UK plug?

I've just bought a Wii on Ebay and it came with a continental (schuko) plug. The seller said this:

Can I say first of all that the item was brought NEW from ebay itself from a UK seller! As regards the european power supply, we were under the impression that all nintendo wii's came like this, I also point this out because of the european harmonisation of EU voltages. Quote "Member countries of the European Union are presently striving to achieve a common mains standard.
From 1 January 2004 the mains supply should be 230V (-6%, +10%), 50 Hz (±1%). ie a range of 216.2 - 253V" Unquote. So how can you or I differenciate between a european model and a british model? I find it particularly odd that you say that the item was rendered unusable because of this. We just went out an brought a 2 pin shaver plug type attachment to use the wii, again, thinking that all the consoles came this way!​

I don't have another Wii to compare it with so thought I'd ask the ever helpful TP brigade!
 
Mine came with a UK plug . There are a few UK retailers that sourced stock from Germany, that could be what has happened :)
 
the uk ones come with a three pin plug, but the console will work with a shaver adaptor or a continental plug adaptor, they couple of quid from tescos and the like.

no difference in the actual console, just the plug:thumbs:
 
Thanks guys - pretty much just confirmed what I suspected.

I already got a screw-fit adapter (better than the shaver socker ones as there's no chance of it coming out or arcing) and it's working fine, but I'm annoyed because it was listed as a UK model. (European models generally sell for £20-30 cheaper)
 
Mine came with a UK plug, but then again, mine came from GAME
 
UK plug here too, bought from Gamestation.
 
When Wii were originally in short supply, there was a huge trade in Wii imported from the continent with continental plugs. I suspect the seller to you bought one of there and maybe, in fairness, either didn't read or comprehend the difference. It will work fine though :)
