I got myself a grip for my sony a77 off eBay, my question is do you have to have both batteries in for it to work? Ive only got one in atm as waiting for the other to turn up and the camera turns on works fine, but none of the buttons on the grip actually do anything?? Before I speak to the seller about it not working just wanted to double check lol!

any help would be great!

I have one in the grip, and then when it's fitted to the camera the camera works as normal but the buttons on the grip don't if that makes sense? Lol

Forgive me if this sounds rude, but I've had this before. Is there an on/off switch on the side of the Grip. I shoot Canon and on occasion I've accidently switched it off.

As above, my canon grip works with 1 or 2 buttons inserted, there is an on / off switch on the canon grip for the grip buttons only and not to switch the grip on or off (hope that makes sense)

SHOULD BE JUST the on off switch, which one did you go for?

I found with both of mine the grip needed to be switched on before the camera, too

thanks for the input guys, it didn't work with the grip switched on either, Ive spoken to the seller who has re funded me so will be sending it back thanks :)

Glad you kind of got it sorted - hopefully, the next one you buy will work perfectly :)
