Random bonus of the covid pandemic - hotel rooms

As a key worker I have travelled a fair bit over the last year. maybe 6 or 7 days a month.
Usually its the standard holiday inn or premier inn as my clients often only coff to about £130 a nigh max.

Well that all changed due to covid, premier inn are down at £29 a night and holiday inn can be had on IHG for down at £59 a nigt.

But some seriously nice premium stuff has fallen right under my budget.
Spending tonight in what would have been a boutique country house hotel near Skegness where this room would have been £154, to me £72

I would have said £29 for Premiur Inn was their standard charge.

Also for someone who was furloughed during last years lockdown, I am intrigued to know how he now classes himself a key worker?

When I used to stay away a fair bit in the past it cost the company anything up to and around £80 a night. B&B.
In a premier inn.

BTW I often wonder about the definition of Key workers.
Does that include Lock smiths?

That explains it then, I tended to be billeted in the middle of nowhere or on the out skirts of some s***ty town,
with b****r all happening

There must have been a lot of people who retrained as locksmith since last year then. My wife works in a local school and she said the number of children whose parents were "keyworkers" had increased considerably.
