Inane question 2 of the year...

Bungalow, bay window at front with angled roof gable above it and a sort of metal "roof" bit above the actual window that slopes back into the wall.
Now, when it rains I get a steady drip, drip, drip that I can hear in the bedroom inside which is a bit annoying. I am assuming something is causing a drip onto the metal bit above the window.
Any suggestions on how to stop the drip or stop it making so much noise when hitting the metal thing? Was thinking of gluing a sponge on or something if I can pinpoint where the drip lands, lol.

Attached picture shows the sort of front aspect mine has, we are talking about the window/room on the right, but my window stands more proud of the actual wall and has the metal "thing" above as mentioned.

Cheers all!

Hi Check if any guttering above the window needs clearing. Or if the antenna is making rain drip on to it

stick a sponge in there

There is no guttering above because its an angled gable. I need to go out when its raining and try and find the cause, trouble is I only remember when I am in bed trying to sleep and its raining

(The picture Ive shown is not my actual bungalow btw)

Jug of water to simulate rain?

Jug of water to simulate rain?
Where would I pour it?

A hose pipe sprayed up on the roof might work though. I had a look in daylight and I have a telephone line from a telegraph pole coming in to a connector thing, maybe where the telephone line drops slightly before going up to the connector the water is dripping off? If so how to fix.

ive no idea...above the window somewhere...hosepipe is the way forward...

tie a cable tie to the wire a bit further back, the water should drip off that instead

I feel your pain entirely! The rain drips off my bedroom window onto the metal housing for the boiler way down below, drives me insane!
