It would be interesting nonetheless. Both are well-educated and able to put their point across succinctly and yet so far apart politically that there could never be an agreement on any major issue.

Unfortunately the BBC would never have the cajones to air something like that, unless they could find away to combine it with some lowest common denominator form of entertainment show.

Question Time on Ice......anyone?

I only went away to see if Shami Chakrabarti was going to explode on Question Time :

I thought she was going to tonight, quite honestly i wish the silly cow would, and yes i do mean literally

Have you seen some of the mince the BBC put out nowadays in the name of entertainment?

I'd agree. The BBC seems to be loosing it's footing. If they put the amount of time and effort into the rest of the shows as it used to on its nature and documentaries then it'd be all the better for it. But that's not going to happen.

At least we get to see the mince they put out, ITV cover theirs with Tic-Tac adverts :lol::lol:

Did you see ITV totally screw up the football coverage of Everton vs. Liverpool? Amazingly bad.

As mentioned by someone else here, this is a country i'm quickly becoming one i'm stuck with living in, rather than one i want to live in.

No one is stuck living here. There's 27 countries in Europe you're free to go live and work in. You could (hypothetically) pack up and work in any of those countries tomorrow. You've got plenty of options.

Not with the way the pound has collapsed against the euro we don't....

Our main stream politicians will never have any backbone over these issues - it's time for the public to vent their views and be more outspoken on this most serious issue.

We don't all agree with it.

Rubbish. And besides, not all EU members use the euro. Go work in the Czech Republic. It's cheap, an incredibly interesting place and the women are hot.

In reality my circumstances don't make that possible at the moment, so no not got plenty of options, that's not to say things won't change in the future, unfortunately for a lot of us things aren't so cut and dry as your making out ;)

It's not rubbish. Our currency has devalued by almost a third in the last few months, so moving abroad has become much more expensive. Also I have no desire to live in the Czech republic, just because it's hot and the women are cheap...

No worse than what they've been doing to F1 for years

Name another country where F1 is aired on a non commercial station?

FI survives on sponsorship, as do many other sports.

USA, the founder of ad breaks during sporting events, virtually changed the way their sports were played because of television.

I hate adverts as much as the next man but TV has brought some of the things I would never haver seen ( or even heard of) to my living room.

The BBC advertise their own stations for free, example, how many times during the usual slot on BBC 1 between 7 and 10 at night do you see trailers for BBC 3, 7, Dr Who, Radio 4, MOTD etc. All slots on Commercial stations, whether radio or TV, have to be paid for.

Next time you look at the BBC look at how many adverts they really have.

She talked a lot of sense, common sense at that!

As far as i'm concerned she lives in a different world, one of Fluffy Kittens and Cotton Wool, the security service's have got a mammoth job in this country and America, it maybe ok for her to bang on about terrorists rights, try telling her sentiment's to the family's of victim's of 7/7 and 9/11, i just thank god the country isn't run by idiot's like her where terrorist and security issue's are concerned.

I'm right behind you on that

g'day bruce.
i love the australian attitude.
i,m all for racial equality , but the gov.co.uk are so scared of everything, that they arent prepared to stand by their principles.
oz tends to call a spade , a spade.
you move to a foreign country, you expect to abide by its laws and principles.
not bitch when you dont like them.

It's not the same for immigrants either.

I don't need to clarify. Use your head.

I take it by that comment your a bit unsure of what you mean then

Yep makes perfect sense, he didn't ask all Muslim's to leave, just the one's who wanted to live under Shariah law, if i emigrated to another country i would naturally expect to live by there law's if i didn't want to i simply wouldn't go, nothing complicated about it, just simple common sense

I couldn't agree more TG - and a D300 user as well

Take it any way you want :)

Fair enough your choice, but i don't see much point in joining a debate if your not going to at least try to clarify or qualify what you say or mean

I joined the debate yesterday. I'm getting tired of the debate to be honest. :bang:

so am I, time to move on. People slightly irritated by it? Made some folk a bit angry? THAT is why I normally close religion/politics threads.

mind the doors.
