Quitting Smoking....

good luck with this. I was a life long smoker, 20+ every day. Quit last year, initially using patches but found I was getting an "evening" craving as the patches wore off each day. So after a very brief relapse I binned them and went cold turkey.

Although I had many good reasons to quit it was the money left in my pocket which had the biggest impact, followed by the fact my clothes didn't smell any longer. That helped save money too, by cutting down the amount of laundry I was doing.

Whatever happens, don't be put off. It took me 3 attempts before I managed to finally quit. All the best in your endeavour! :)

up until 7 years ago I smoked 30+ a day. I decided id had enough and stopped. 3rd attempt was successful, I havent smoked since. It hasnt affected me physically OR mentally, im still the trim, happy-go-lucky and relaxed man i was then...

Good luck, kicked the habit 3 years ago after years of trying.... My top tip is - break the routine as it's all psycho, err, pshyco, err, in the mind. The chemical bit is easily sorted BUT breaking those old routines is the bitch.

Tried the gum - developed a gum habit instead
Tried the inhalator - no good, as you're still putting something in your mouth (oo-er!!)
Patches - started on too high a dose (I only smoked Marlboro lights!), ended up turning green round the gills!! Get the dose right and they worked for me (eventually).

Good luck...

Carl
