good luck with this. I was a life long smoker, 20+ every day. Quit last year, initially using patches but found I was getting an "evening" craving as the patches wore off each day. So after a very brief relapse I binned them and went cold turkey.
Although I had many good reasons to quit it was the money left in my pocket which had the biggest impact, followed by the fact my clothes didn't smell any longer. That helped save money too, by cutting down the amount of laundry I was doing.
Whatever happens, don't be put off. It took me 3 attempts before I managed to finally quit. All the best in your endeavour!
