Quidco

Hi

I've recently started to use and it's fairly simple

Initally join up, then click on the retailer you wish to visit via Quidco web site, it then links your order back to your Quidco account. Took approx 3 months from my first order via there web to be paid, it's tracked and validated then paid to Quidco, but apart from that, no problems. I've also used there support on a couple of occasions and have been pleased with the response I received.

There is a £5 fee, which is taken from your first payment - I can also get NHS discounts, but the rates aren't as good (possibly, thay are keeping a small % of the cashback as there fee ??). I beleive there is also another cash back site - topcashback (something like that) which I am going to look at when my Quidco renewal is due.

Think i've everything correct

Hope this is of help,

Yep - sign up, then whenever you buy something online, go to the site through quidco and you'll earn your cashback.

As far as photographic stores there's Jessops, Warehouse Express, Jacobs plus some other regular electrical stores.

Be aware though, when pricing stuff up it's too easy to go through Quidco but you might still be able to get things cheaper.

Oh, and if you try and use discount codes, you won't get your cashback - there will be a list of any codes you can use with quidco before you go to the site. For example, there's "quidcofive" for Jessops which gives you 5% off everything except lenses and DSLR's

There's also a couple of stores where you can get cashback by registering your credit cards with Quidco then when you buy from the store, you get the cashback - Halfords is one example. I've used it and it works.

Have a look at Topcashback as well I saved £75 on house insurence this year, same as Quidco took a month or so but worth tha wait.

:D

Always visit the target site through the cash back site
If you visit the target site direct you can leave a cookie which means your first contact was not through the cash back site Hence no cash back

Just have to make sure that once you've done your research you clear out your temporary internet files including cookies, log on to quidco then go to the site via quidco and buy.

Sometimes cashback can take 6 months or so to come through. Mine did for my iphone contract but I got £60 in the end. You also need to be careful that if a transaction hasn't tracked, you submit an enquiry within the specified timeframe. An example of this is Dell where you couldn't submit the enquiry for a few weeks then had about a week timeframe to do it. Outlook calendar is useful here.

And I have made many purchases with discount codes and quidco - you just have to check the T&Cs on the quidco site.

I think I've saved about £500 over the last couple of years on top of other discounts which isn't bad.

Just a quick word of caution ..

Whilst getting a cashback on your purchaces sounds great, it should not be relied upon.

Some of my cashback deals have not tracked and not paid out even after proving I made no mistake.

I bought something on 19 Dec 2009 via Ebay, didn't track, so filled in all the paperwork.. still don't have it 6 months later!

Ebay doesn't seem to pay out, I've got a few from Dec to Feb and nothing has paid.. even though the other site (TopCashback) says Ebay last paid up end of April... I've had a few track, 3p from 7Dayshop is the last one.. won't spend it all at once!

Also no £5 fee with Topcashback!

True, but sometimes Quidco can have larger cash backs. e.g. Quidco recently had a rise in cash back at Jessops from 4% to 8% for a week or so. At TopCashBack I don't think the value changed at all. Often the cash backs are the same, but sometimes not, and sometimes one will have an arrangement with a merchant while the other won't.

I've been with Quidco for several years and have netted over £1200 in cash backs to date. I don't think I have ever had a cashback fail to track properly or to pay out. I might have had to chase once or twice, but things have always come good.

I joined TopCashBack last year and to date I don't think I've had a transaction fail to track or (eventually) pay.

I shall continue to be a member of both. I use TopCashBack by default unless Quidco has a better offer, but for a mere £5 a year I still think it is worth staying with them. I should be able to easily recover that fiver with a shrewd purchase of insurance, or a utility switch or something like that, which TCB will not be able to match.

Definitely worth being a member of both as they don't cost anything - Quidco's fiver comes out of any earnings, so not actually out of your own pocket - and one can have a better offer than the other as mentioned.

You guys must spend a lot - I've only managed a couple of hundred quid over several years!

There are certain things that have quite substantial cashbacks so it can add up. Another tip is to use a Tesco credit card, collect the points, buy Goldsmiths vouchers with them (4 time value) then buy an Omega watch or similar and sell at a small discount. I've done this once and will be doing it again soon but I do buy nearly everything on the card and pay it off in full each month.

Another good one is hotukdeals to find vouchers and deals. Do your price research first then quidco or other to see if you can find the cheapest few retailers listed there then do the maths and make your choice.

This month I insured a Ford Mondeo fully comp for £158, the premium was £228 less £70 quidco through the RAC, bargain, all of my ebay purchases have tracked and paid out ok.
