Just got some expired Provia 100 and Velvia 100 120 film from @TheGreatSoprendo

The provia expired 5/12 and the Velvia 8/12 its been kept chilled so shoot at 100 or at slight low 80?

I am planning to shoot it mainly in the Pentax 645N which will allow setting to 80.

Ta

I'd shoot it at box speed. It's only just OOD and as it's been stored correctly there really shouldn't be any degradation.

Thanks, popped off to Huddersfield Greenhead Park to snap some of the spring flowers.

:-)

Have just shot some of the same batch of Velvia, decided just to shoot at box speed, actually a couple of rolls that had been out of the freezer a couple of months, unlike yours, so if mine turn out normal yours will too! Should be back from Peak in a day or two. Previous rolls all came out perfectly.:)

Think I actually walked past you yesterday snapping one of Harold Wilson on your way for the train?

Holy crap @DeanH I did line one up but the light was behind him !!!

Right, got my pics back from Peak Imaging, these are from Velvia 100 exp 2012, same batch as above. This is from test roll on Pentax 645N with 75mm FA lens (same as yours @Mr Bump ) and exposed at box speed (100). While you might not think much of the subject matter, I'm pretty pleased with the exposure, given how difficult it can be to expose slide film correctly - these were just taken in aperture priority with matrix metering and no compensation (nor have I altered the files at all - these are straight from the scans). Think I'm falling for the Pentax 645N by the way, what a great camera this is !!

@TheGreatSoprendo Im just posting my test scans up as well.
Im with you on the Camera, it just shoots wonderfull even on full auto :-)

They seem to have a bit of a magenta colour cast?

Can't see these for some reason on my work PC (perhaps they didn't get past the porn filter? who knows :D). Anyway, someone once told me they didn't like the Velvia 100 because of a magenta cast (Magentia they called it). I know some people use it with a warming filter to get around this. I've certainly come across it before (and might be my photos above you're referring to, not sure, they also are perhaps a bit magenta). I have to say I don't use it much because it's no good for people, Provia much better for that.

Sorry, not yours Francesco, should have said it was Paul's I was mentioning!

Yep and I know why, the roll used for testing was an old batch that I had kicking arround not @TheGreatSoprendo stuff bought recently.

Oddly enough i used another roll in my RB67 a while ago and it carried a similar tint, must be a cooked batch but it was very cheap :-)

It could still be taken out when you scan the film though, why leave the cast in if you know it's there?

Can't say I can realy see it, guess you must have better peepers than me

Can see then now I'm at home, perhaps a bit of magenta going on here, in some more than others (and noticeably more than mine). As said, easily fixed if you want, otherwise no big deal.

I had a longer look and corrected them yes there was a red tinge.
