Yes
well once again UPS delivery service has left me frothing with rage!

My sigma lens that i sent for 'calibration' was returned to me yesterday by Sigma, they choose UPS as the mode of transit.

Tracking states: Some dumbass at UPS Luton cant tell what vehicle your package is supposed to go on, so sent it to Charlton...Delivery Rescheduled

So i rang UPS...after having to repeat the tracking number 3 times, twice to automated service thing, and once to man on phone, i get told that this sort of thing doesnt happen often(except it does, as we use them at work, and plenty get a scenic trip round the uk)and that i can expect delivery tomorrow. I enquire when and am told that it will be before 10.30am, Knowing UPS that will be 12.15 then...

So thanks UPS, for not raising my expectations of your company, you still are truly pants :bang: :suspect:

Right on brother!

While we're on the subject, you would have thought that in this day and age we could have a service that can estimate what time your parcel will arrive. OK I know it will be between 8:30am and 5:30pm but just give me a clue... morning? afternoon? lunchtime??

I wouldn't even care if it came with a disclaimer (i.e. give or take an hour), but to have to wait in earshot of the doorbell all day, on a sunny day, and then have them turn up at 6pm is torture! :bang:

Ive actually had a good exoerience with ups just recently, my printer has gone t##s up and canon sent me a replacement which did not work either and 4 collections and deliveries later it still doesnt work, so 4 engineers have been out and it still doesnt work, ongoing situation!!!
but ups have collected within 4 hours of me calling them to come and get it then turned up in 2 and on delivery they said before 10.30 am and turned up at 10.00, on 1st name terms with driver now, chat about the cricket and what have you, thats probably why everybody else has to wait. sorry.

I have had nothing but trouble with UPS & I hate being forced to use them for deliveries - My 350D from a while ago went missing for a week & then they delivered it to the wrong address (I was really quite annoyed by this as you may imagine!) :bang: :bonk:
I also ordered 2Gb of RAM for my mac as I had just bought a new program & needed the extra boost - UPS left it with a random person that nobody had ever heard of (they didn't even leave it with the reception - presumed that was what it was there for  ) & it didn't turn up for 3 MONTHS!!.
By the way, these are the only times I have used UPS & my first two experiences with them left me tearing my hair out in frustration.
Its a good job it turned up after all though as the company that I bought the RAM from declared the package as photocopies of no value (without my knowledge) so as to dodge customs & when the package went missing & UPS refunded them only the value of the photocopies, they behaved like utter arses & refused to refund me (I will post the name of this company once I remember it - odd as they had great feedback on ebay) I did report them though.
I hate UPS!! We should start a who hates UPS poll

And that's exactly why I don't order from HK sellers who declare things as gift of little value.

Right... Amtrak have been added to the list. Other half waited in all day yesterday for a parcel on next day service and it didn't turn up. Checked the tracking and it went out on the van first thing to be delivered and then in the evening back to the depot.

Reason for non-delivery? "Out of time" :(

*sigh*

I guess you paid extra for next day too?

Yeah... don't worry I'll be mentioning that when I phone up at 9am.

Only £4 extra than normal delivery... but it's the principle :)

11.21 and the Before 10.30 delivery still isnt here...

You would have thought those early deliveries wouldn't be far off :(

Phoned Amtrak and they told me the parcel is out for delivery again. When I asked what time it'd arrive she gave me the phone number of the driver, so I gave him a ring.

Nice chap Derek the driver, and he should be "up my end" just after 1ish.

Still no reply from Dabs about my next day delivery refund, but this is the second time they've done this to me, and the first time I got a refund on postage so I'm hopeful!

12.11 and no delivery....

15.21

apparently it will be here before 15.30...

15.48 arrival.

muppets.

Well that's before 10:30 tomorrow....

lol aye.

lens is working fine though!

At work we've recently had complaints about parceline being to early delivering stuff on pre 10 del  well 6 am is before 10 isn't it? :D

Being a delivery (of a sort) driver myself I can sympathise with most of these delivery guys. Delivery companies have so much competition they have to work on a shoestring, as a driver you are sent out loaded to the gunnels with packages on a run which can be hundreds of miles. Some of the calls like businesses will have time constraints, different classes of item may also have specific delivery windows and that leaves joe bloggs home customer at the short end of the stick, he gets fitted in as and when the van is in his bit of town and after the 'important' stuff is done.

Of course as a customer too I can understand the frustration this causes, though in the main delivery times in my neck of the woods have improved enormously over the past few years. Next day pretty much used to mean 4-5 days up here, now as often as not it really is next day (and no more silly surcharges for not living in t'south).
