Quick tripod question

I've just become the owner of a Slik master classic D3 tripod (SH from ffordes via ebay for £14.99) This one at the btm http://www.intro2020.co.uk/pages/slik2.htm

Can the head be removed so that I can change it for a ball head or am I stuck with the pan head? It looks like it can but I don't want to get all "ham fisted" with it and break someting if it can't

Hi Eric

I've never known a decent tripod where the head can't be unscrewed, and the Slik I owned for many years had this as a feature so you could fasten it to a leg to get lower down

Just tighten the pan bit and it should unscrew

Thanks Dave Just tried what you suggested and bingo...head in one hand legs in the other Off to search for a ball head for my expensive tripod now
