Yes
I get the manual settings and the power etc etc
But what would you suggest being a good starting point for the zoom? 85mm? 50mm? i want to have a good starting point so i dont have to humble too much.

I have two sceanrios in my head...bouncing two sb800 of the ceiling either side of the bed... and one using a brolly at the corner of the bed for low shots...

heres what im going to try...

told you youtube was awesome...see where he places the lights and the brollies...

Thanks for that Paul, I must admit, I've never bounced a studio flash off a ceiling before, I learn more every time I use this forum, so thanks again that was a fab shoot!

There's no real perfect settings paul, it's a lot of trial and error. Don't forget that as you zoom out it will affect the reach of the flash so you will need to adjust power to compensate. Also remember that the wider the zoom the softer the light.

Sorry I can't be more specific but it really depends on the placement of the flash, the size of the area you're bouncing off of, where the model is positioned etc etc. trial and error mate.

Kev, thats really helpful, I havent played about with the zoom yet and wouldnt of realised it would affect it that way.

I love the tips that pop up on this site. :D
