I've got myself a Desire HD on contract today, just logged into the Android marketplace thing, now when I buy an app, I assume the cost gets added to my monthly bill from vodafone?

Thanks guys

You need to register a debit/credit card with them Once you've done that it's all too quick and easy to fill up the phone with apps. ;)

Ah I see, I've only downloaded a few free apps so far, I assume when I try and download a paid app it'll prompt me to input my debit card?

Well I'll put off paying for an app for as long as I can, my iPad apps already cost me enough!

Any "Must Have" apps to recommend?

angry birds! so so so addictive and of course the tp app :)

I've played all the angry birds to death on my iPad but I notice they are free on android, so I may redownload, have another crack at them.

I never even realized TP had an app,

One other thing, how do I delete apps that were pre-installed on my phone? I can delete ones I downloaded myself, but apps such as amazon mp3, which Ill never use, I cant figure out how to delete?

Pess applications button on bottom left of the screen which opens the All Apps list.

Press Menu - just under the screen, then press 'Remove App' which brings up a list of all Apps.. Select the ones you want to remove.

For apps you've downloaded you get an Uninstall option. For pre-loaded apps you get a 'Clear Data' option.

some of the pre downloaded ones you can't delete!

To uninstall pre-installed (system) apps I believe you'll need to root your phone and then use an app such as Titanium Backup to uninstall them properly. That's how I did it on my Orange San Francisco. I don't know if there are other ways.

Thank you kindly!

Google XDA for rooting, tis a very good forum.
System app remover is a good app and if I remember correctly, it costs 61p.
I've never seen a feature in Titanium Back up that allows you remove preinstalled apps.

Lots of great apps. I have the Desire HD on TMobile and Love it!

Current favourite Tank Hero :)

Since TB has root it can do whatever it likes if you tell it to. This is the free version.

Well I am blowed, I use the paid version but I've never used it for uninstalling apps, however, I didn't realise it can also remove pre-installed systems apps.
I've learnt something new, cheers Tim.
Since I've been using a custom ROM, the one I use allows you choose the pre-installed apps but I tend to not bother with most.
But damn, I could have saved 61p and not bought system app remover :D
