Quick question on Adobe RGB for normal applications

I have a calibrated Eizo monitor which I use in the Adobe RGB colour space in Lightroom and Photoshop....but I was wondering if I need (or should) switch the colour space of the monitor to sRGB for normal daily tasks? I know all images on the web are sRGB but I don't know if this is simply displayed as 'normal' when using the Adobe RGB colour space on the monitor, since Adobe RGB covers 100% of the sRGB gamut,

Basically I want to avoid looking at images on Instagram (for example) and having the colour 'distorted'.

sRGB is the standard for browsers but some are able to use Adobe RGB and so if you export in Adobe RGB it is reasonable to assume some people will be viewing the images in Adobe RGB and some in sRGB. If you want the most consistent viewing then you are best using sRGB.

If your monitor is calibrated it is not using the Adobe RGB color space; it is using the monitor's color space. It doesn't matter what color space an image is in (as long as it is known); because the image colors are interpreted/converted into the monitor's colors by the monitor profile.
