quick question on a portrait

going to be taking a photo of a family later they are looking for the same kinda shot 1 adult 2 kids (not young children) anyway I tested the setup just now and feel the shadows a bit harsh under my eldow I am using the d700 sigma 10-20 and the SB-800 with the pop out part and the white card out what else can I do to reduce the shadow I do have a 5 in 1 reflector but unsure as to where it could go?

If all three of you are in the picture, the reflector is essentially redundant. Although perhaps you could prop it to fill in those shadows....somehow!
Assume you've no other flashes? Can the set up be shifted? Incorporate natural light?

For it's worth, I think the shadows are manageable.
 
Hi Michael,

I'm no expert, however to get rid of the shadow on your right elbow, I'd put the reflector on your right as well.

You will have to tilt the reflector to bounce the lights from the flash into the area where the shadow is. However the tilt will depend on how you have the flash set up - i.e are you bounding the flash off the ceiling?

That said I like the photo and would leave the shadow in !! :)

thanks for that I have loads of room to move around I can turn it around to the left and get daylight coming in from behind me here is a pic of the room

oh remember I could try the flash on the shoe along with the onboard flash oh crap I just found a couple of dust bunnies
