I have a 6x4 print that I need two copies of for a mate,it is a freebie for him, so I would like to get both pics on one piece of A4 paper. How do I move the 6x4 image onto a new document whilst retaining its 6x4 dimensions?

I have done this before in CS 3 but can`t for the life of me remember how...........:bonk:

You could double the height of the canvas and add 20 for separation, then copy n paste should retain the size. Set initial canvas size by calculation of ppi x size of print.

Failing that, print 1st pic, turn paper round and feed back into printer .. print second pic. Set margins to only print at top.

In CS3, use File/Automate/Contact Sheet II. Much easier this way if it's included in CS4. Select your images by browsing.

I cannot find contact sheet in CS or in Bridge, Adobe help says it is there in file automate, but it simply is not on my machine...........

Edit......Sorted, what a bloody fiasco to find it though.

Thanks for the help.

that would have been my choice too, a new a4 size canvas, select the 6x4, drag and drop the image, repeat, flatten, print

when I did that Yvonne, the 6x4 resized to the full A4. I`m doing something wrong and I`m sure it will be basic, but I can`t remember how I did it in CS3.

In CS4 you need to do it in Picture Package. This is not automatically loaded and you need to download the plugin.

Go to the adobe site to install picture package and contact sheet plugins.

Once you have loaded Picture Package everything will be pretty simple to follow.

make sure the dpi is the same on the A4 as on the 6X4

Tom, your a star, many thanks.
