No
Hoya, B&W, Tiffen, Canon other?
Which is best?

Thanks in advance!

According to this test Hoya filters seem to come out top.

I personally have a standard Jessops one on my kit lens at the moment, although I will be investing in a good filters for my next time.

Just got a Petal lens hood instead. Going to leave it on permanently!

Hoya Pro...

Although there is some debate as to whether they're needed or not - if, like me you think a UV/Protection filter should be a permanent attachment no matter what, then it pays to get the best - unless you're in a situation where the liklihood of ongoing damage is ever-present - at the moment I'm using any old thing I can get my hands on and swapping them after every third job or so...

There are some Hoya-Pro filters now on their way out to me, I'm told...seems the supply-chain has finally creaked into life after a million emails back to the UK...

I use B+W and they seem reasonable to me though I don't have one on my UWA as I haven't sourced a thin one yet.

It just makes me feel better that the first piece of glass in the firing line is a filter and not the front glass of the lens.

Very rare I use protection filters, usually use the hood alone.
