Quick Query - SOLVED

Im am in Manual mode using two flash lamps and i cant use a shutter speed faster then 1/200 it wont let me it just goes back to 1/200. I though in M mode i was in control?
The camera im using is a 400D.

I am pretty certain the max shutter speed is 1/200 for flash on the 400d

That's the camera blocking shutter speeds faster than the max synch speed, my 40D does it at 1/250s.

Solved using the high speed sync button on the 430EX!! Thanks guys!!

400D has a sync speed of 1/200, therefore the highest shutter speed you can use is 1/200. Anything higher and your camera will not let you move the shutter speed up as you have reachest your X-sync.
