Hi guys,

I'm just about to order a filter and filter holder and just wanted to check I've got this right and I'm not ordering the wrong parts. It's to go on the canon 10-22mm with a filter size of 77mm.

I'm planning to get a Cokin P Series Grey Graduated Filter - The grad grey g2 medium ND4. This is 2 stops I believe and would be suitable for shooting landscapes if I'm not mistaken?

Presumably I also need a filter holder - such as this.

Will I also need an adapter ring to connect between the lens and filter holder - one of these?

As I've found the two on ebay for a lot cheaper - here.

Would I be ok if I just bought the ebay link and the graduated filter? Does anyone have a similar setup they could take a couple of photos of? :D Also these links are just to the first site I found on Google, so if anyon has any recommendations for photographic companies which sell these parts at a good price then I'm all ears!

Thanks for your help much appreciated :) Sorry if this has been answered before but my search skills aren't turning up much :(

yep thats right, ive had a p series set up for quite a while now.

ive just bought a cokin, nd4 grad , and ordered a 77mm adapter for my 10-20 too.

i have a ring for a 67mm too, so instead of keep swapping them about i bought another adapter and holder for the 77mm, coming from HK for just £5.50 :)

I've just realised that my experience is based on using a 24mm on a 5D. A crop body may well go lower but down to 10mm is probably still pushing it a little.

You're right m8, when I bought a holder for my 10-22 I had to cut it down to hold just one filter.

Hi thank for the replies. And thanks Bob, nope not too late, I've not ordered them yet. Thanks for that, I managed to miss the fact that it was only down to 28mm. The 10mm on a crop is 16mm effectively so should I expect a bit of vignetting at the wide end even with the wideangle holder?

yes you will, my 18mm on my d80 vignetted quite a bit

Do you have any examples of this? Is that 18mm effectively, or the focal length of the lens (Assuming the D80 has a crop factor, im not too familiar with the Nikon range)

If you a looking to get a set of these look at 7dayshop, they are the cheapest I have found and you can pick up the wide angle holder there for £6.

with a quick search i came across this.

this was taken at 18mm , the d80 has a 1.5x crop factor.

p series mounth and kood circular polariser attached.

not a great photo but it shows the vignetting none the less
