Hi,

I'm looking at a Samsung SDXC Pro Plus card for my camera (Nikon D90 but soon to be 7100/7200).

I'm presuming its OK to use these in an SD adapter so they fit in the camera?

I've always bough standard size SD cards in the past

Thanks

as I bought a 'really' fast SD card for my D7100 (Lexar Pro 1000 64Gb) for £27 its really isn't an issue..

but you should be able to use it as well.

The adapter is just an electrical pass-through so it should work without problems but why use a micro-SD unless you need it for other devices? The same spec will be available in standard size and I find them much easier to handle than the tiny fleck that is a micro-SD card.

Thanks I didn't know they did the same spec in SD. It was just what was in Jessops magazine

What's cards does the D90 manual say is compatible with it? Is it compatible with a SDXC type card?

I've always stuck with SanDisk SD cards, their extreme PRO 95mb/s SD cards were some of the fastest cards you could get and also improved the camera write performance. With the D7100s's tiny buffer you need the fastest card possible for data transfer otherwise you will find its soon slows down. I've used the cards before in a D7100, I still use them in a D7200 and D750. If you buy fast cards they will last you years, the first ones I got of the 95mb/s cards was when th D7100 was first released, still using them now.

On Amazon the 32GB cards are just under £20 at present, cheaper than the same type 16GB cards.

What price were the samsungs in Jessops?

To check card performance and how it differs with the same cards between cameras the links below may help.

That's a very good point as the D90 is SD & SDHC only (I just checked the specs). Karl, this means you're limited to 32GB cards in the D90. 64GB cards may just offer 32GB but you'd have to try it to be sure. Don't limit yourself to what Jessops offer; most of us here recommend www.mymemory.co.uk for memory card purchases.
