What would be a better choice for a Nikon D90 lens desicion?: Either a nikon 16-85mm or both the 35mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8 primes?

Bearing in mind I plan to add a wide angle sigma 10-20mm and the nikon 70-300mm soon after. Or is there good call to have all three?

It really depends what you want to do. The 16-85 is a nice contrasty fairly sharp general walkabout lens with a useful focal range (it's my stay on the cmamera lens). It's not particularly fast but you have plenty of headroom to bump the ISO up with the D90 if there's not a lot of light or you need a faster shutter speed. But, it's not a fast prime, like the other two. If I were you, I would go 16-85 first and then add either the 35 or the 50 at a later date when funds allow. I think my current set-up is pretty much spot-on for me (I use a D300s but before that had the D90). I have the 16-85, the 70-300 VR and a Tokina 12-24, the wife has my 35mm F1.8.

If you plan to go with the Sigma 10-20 and Nikon 70-300, why not go for the Nikon 18-70?
Far more reasonable in cost. The 16-85 is going to cost you over £300 and you may get the 18-70 and the Sigma for the same price (at a stretch).
