Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the D7000 has an internal focus motor?

If the camera is equipped with an AF-S lens (as is likely!) does either focus motor have to be disabled? Or would the one in the lens overide the one in the camera body?

It does have an internal focus motor and if an AF-S lens is fitted, it will use the motor in the lens only.
 
I don't think AF-S lenses even have the connection to take advantage of the internal motor
