Stitches - warm-up properly before you run - 20 minutes of calisthenics should do it - you want to be sweating freely before you start the run...wrap up warm - warmer than you'd think, especially now - thinsulate gloves and a woolly hat are a must; wear baggy shorts over lycra shorts and that should solve the icicle-penis syndrome - to a certain extent it can't be avoided as the body will draw blood from 'unnecessary' bits to increase flow to the muscles...don't ever let your missus see your willy after a run or a long cycle-ride...
Likewise your abdomen will feel colder than normal due to blood being drawn away...wear an extra vest...
