Hi All,

I'm thinking about getting a cheap wide angle and have read some good reviews about the Rokinon 14mm (Nikon). It is advertised as having an 'automatic chip' but non of the product descriptions that I've seen on the internet clarify what the chip is (or does). I'm presuming that it's able to auto the exposure. I realise that it's definitely manual focus but that's not a problem with the type of photos I'm planning to take with this (interiors of homes and properties).

Cheers in advance,
Wayne

If its like my 85mm samyang chipped for nikon - it will act just like a nikon in manual focus mode - ie exposure will work in M A S and the focus confirmation green spot rangefinder in the VF will also work . great value lenses. The chip allows the lens to communicate with the camera

thanks for that. You confirmed what I thought so I'm going to give it a go :)
