Now I'm afraid theres no photo but the other day on my local walk I heard a really weird bird call. Best I can describe is it sounded almost electronic, it reminded me of the stylophone that Rolf Harris made popular decades ago. There was nobody else around so it wasn't a ring tone. I'm wondering what bird? made it.
It was on what I'd call heath/hillside with lots of bushes bracken. Sadly I never saw it either. But it was unusual, I know most of the calls and I've never heard this one before.
Any ideas for me to look up?

Thanks

Probably one of the Warblers, they can make some really strange sounds!

There's a blackbird here that mimics so many sounds, from car alarms, the ice cream van, and most recently the neighbour's Ring doorbell.
Could be you have a local mimic!
