Hi everybody
I'm new to the technology side of photography but have been taking great artistic pictures for years without too much knowledge of anything. I just snap what appeals to my artistic nature. Mostly I love the effect of a number of dimensions in the frame and a sense of humour in the subject. I find it exciting to find a chair caught up in brambles or a close up of the texture of materials or trees. I also have a strong leaning towards night shots with its contrast of lighting in the same way I paint night scenes with lights.
So far I have used really cheap cameras with quite good results mainly because of the subject matter and effects I manage to create(Instinct I guess or sheer luck) I would like to buy a better camera but am restricted to about £150. (cheapskate!)I would like to be able to shoot night scenes and real close up pictures as well as the usual ones we all take.. I would prefer to have intelligent scanning as I see so many things when I am out and with wearing glasses I don't think I want to change functions all the time. Obviously I need a stabilising function and would like to include wide angle if possible. One of the main aims is to get as defined a picture as possible if I enlarge the picture. I have looked at so many in Argos where the specifications are not clear, and been to the only two photo shops in my area where the salesmen are not very well informed nor can they advise; I am stumped and frustrated by it all It seems its easy if I wish to spent £300 but less that £200 nobody can really help. Is there anybody out there..help!!
