Question about 430 EX II

Hi folks, I've been given a loan of a 430 EX II to have a wee play with over the weekend and I was wondering something. When on manual setting are the power steps equal to one stop each? I mean the full - half - quarter - eighth - sixteenth setting.

yep doubling or halving the flash power is equivlant to one aperture stop, also the

guide number * power (eg 1/2) = distance / aperture at iso 100

which is handy for using it remote and getting a ball park f stop to start with, though diff mods steal diff amounts of power
