As I have problems with the old plates of meat I'm looking for the best, softest insoles out there. Not those cheap 1.99 efforts.

I've bought some 20 quid gel insoles but they are just not soft enough.

What do you recommend.

Contact your GP and see if you have any local NHS services that make insoles / shoes / adapters etc - they could either could do them for you on the NHS or some do also offer a "private" service where you can pay for the insoles...

Big advantage of this is they will be custom made to your feet

I have special boots made up for the winter but can't wear them in the summer because they get to hot. I'm using some hiking shoes at the moment but want better insoles for them. I'll ask if they can make me some soft insoles next time I see the orthopedic.

Consult a podiatrist rather tgan an ortho. ..or ask for a referral.

It's the orthopedic department I'm under. I don't see them for a few months so need some super comfy insoles in the mean time.

If you're already under the Orthoptics dept, why not give them a call and see if they can do anything for you / arrange for you to buy some ?

Worth a phone call if nothing else...Hope you get sorted.
 
Used these when knee was wearing out, under advice from surgeon:

Had knee replacement since but will still use them for hiking.
