Quality issue.... dust or what????

Maybe someone could help me with this???? The pic below shows a dot towards the top middle which is appearing in all my photos taken with my 550d. I have seen somewhere before something similar and think that it was dust on the mirror or sensor. What causes this and what can I do to fix this??

Dust on the sensor, clean with cleaning wipe, arctic butterfly or possibly good blow out ... you won't prevent this happening if you change lenses.

First thing to try is using a rocket blower. This is the safest way to clean your sensor.

Yep its dust on the sensor. Clean it off and all will be good again!

Yep big old dust bunny,i would try a rocket blower first,if that doesnt move it.

You could try cleaning the senor yourself,or just get it cleaned in a shop

Also, every time I switch the camera on/off it says 'sensor cleaning', I assume that will not prevent this problem from happening?

This helps to reduce it, but unfortunately doesn't stop it.

I use a lens pen sensoklear and it works a treat

I does help to remove light dust,but if its stuck to the sensor ,rocket blower first,then you can try to get it out yourself,but i alway say if you are unsure about self cleaning,take it to be pro cleaned

For the moment you can alway clone it out of your photos with software.

Think your camera may have the dust delete data function, worth checking as it could work for a temporary solution
