QTrax - Free Music Site - has anyone used it?

QTrax was thrown around the press on Monday as being the new free and legal music download site. I ended up doing a feature on the site for the company I work for: http://www.communityfriend.co.uk/features/qtrax.html

I mentioned all the same things as the papers and national media - that this site would give us 25 million free tracks etc.. BUT yesterday it seems like it may all be a bit of a flash in the pan or one big scam. None of the major record lables said they had deals with Qtrax to offer the music free (payment would be made via advertising to the lables and artists) After waiting ages to try and get the peer to peer software downloaded I find when you do get it installed that you can't register and by the looks of things anyone that can register can't get connected after thus having no chance of downloading any tracks. Is this a big scam? If so £500K they spent on marketing before hand must be making them some return.

I want to follow this up for the site but as no one I know has actually managed to get any further into Qtrax than I have I thought I would ask everyone on TP. If so what do you think of the software? Have you managed to download anything? Has anyone had a good experiance and is Qtrax actually going to work?

I thought we had posted some replies to this thread??

Anyway, I have managed to get as far as the registration screen now, but am getting an error message when I enter my postcode. It says it is invalid and also says that it must be numerics only.:cuckoo: Has anyone managed to get past this?

I have sent an email to their support so I await a reply with interest.
 
I think all the replies when when they changed the forum over.

Anyway... I have managed to register. As they are after a zip code with just numbers I just put in the numbers of my post code plus another number (4 minumum) and it accepted it.

BUT now I have managed to get on and search for music and I can find what I want non of the tracks are actually available to download as yet. Even the ones that say "most downloaded tracks" cant be downloaded. Will keep an eye on it this week.
