I've done a bit of Googling but I'm finding it hard to find out which player apps come with the various PVRs out there. ideally I would like a PVR with at least iPlayer and Netflix but freeview and Amazon would be good too. Any suggestions?

Humax offer one with iplayer and netflix. It might do amazon with an extra download. I have just switched to the Humax 5000T that records up to 4 things at once. I've owned it a week and not crashed it or made it lose its mind yet so it's probably going to be ok.... I think Richersounds specification lists what comes with what. They're usually pretty helpful so if you can go into a store then they'd probably find you one with the most quite quickly. Plus they do the 6 year warranty too.

My LG tv has all the players though. It's got netflix, amazon, iplayer and nowtv and a few of the other catch up ones.

Humax is a possibility - our Freesat (Humax) box has the catch up TV on and Netflix...doesn't have Amazon on though, but their stick is cheap if you want Amazon

Our BT Youview box has catch up and Netflix, again, no Amazon...

Apple TV has iPlayer, Netflix and Prime Video on it.

Thanks all and apologies for the late reply, for some reason I haven't been getting notification from this thread. That FVP-5000T looks interesting (y)

difficult to do in one device, my suggestion would be an amazon fire tv for the apps side of life as you can load them all on and then just get a great PVR

I've got an Amazon fire thing and it is about the worst software I have used in the last 20 years, slow, counter intuitive, riddled with adverts for things I have already watched or will never watch, and WiFi only which affects bandwidth for other devices, so I'd rather not. It makes it doubly annoying that such a pile of crap was created by a supposed "tech" company and I pay for both the player and a subscription, it's the sort of thing that drives people towards the apple hegemony :)
