Pushing or Pulling ?

I've been out with the Kodak Box Brownie with 400 ASA film as it was quite bright, it has a low shutter speed and fixed Aperture I would like to adjust in processing to effectively give it a little less exposure , Am I to ask for pull or push the film ? What would you recommend ? it was o.k with 100 speed film in roughly the same conditions !

You’d be wanting to pull it. Pulling film is to over-expose / underdevelop. So, if on the day you shot the film you felt that the shutter speed and aperture would have better suited 100asa film than the 400asa film you used, ask for it to be pulled by two stops when developed.

Thanks MrFishyFish It's one of those super simple things that everytime I get my head around it I don't think of for a while and then can't remember again ! Any idea on who is cheapish with 120 B&W film at the moment ?
