Does anyone use a push on lens cover instead of the normal fiddly lens cap? One that slips over the end of the lens.

Interested in a source if possible.

Thanks,
Al

Most of my film cameras have push on caps, only problem is that they fall off very easily so need some sort of lanyard to prevent loss.
The 'fiddly' ones as you put it, engage with the filter thread and prevent it falling off. So if you do get 'push on' caps you will not gain anything!

Yes, I see your point. I'll have to go pro and leave the caps off then :)

As long as your hood is fitted, no problem!

Thanks Mark. If I had or needed the adaptor those would have been fine.

I use cheap filters... a little more fiddly as you have to un/screw but the seal is great, they won't fall off & are only a couple of quid.

Hello stranger ;)

That sounds an interesting idea but really looking for something I can remove quickly.

But they can have a pretty severe impact on image quality... no point in spending good money on a lens then putting a junk filter on it...

I think he means he takes them off before pressing the shutter Richard.
Defeats the object of the OPs question though!

Yes, to clear that up. I just use them as lens caps as I don't get on with the push on things that come with the lens:)
