Hi Guys

Took some pictures today of birds in trees and when iv viewed them on the pc some of the twigs are purple. They wasnt this colour in person.

Any thoughts?

Below is a picture of the worst.

Thanks in advance

I would say its CA caused by the lens being unable to handle the strong back lighting and hence contrast along the edge of the branch.

CA or chromatic aberrations usually, in my experience, show up as purple or green fringing on high contrast areas like you've got there, pretty easy to fix as Lightroom for example, has profiles for most lens which when enabled automatically remove any colour fringing :)

Hope that helps :)

ahh cheers guys ! i kinda thought it was this but i didnt understand why it was only happening on a few twigs.

Iv just tried the lens profile in light room but it hasnt helped.

Yep - defo CA
You have some green fringing there as well. As mentioned Lightroom etc. should be able to sort that for you quite easily:)

Caused by the sudden contrast change from things like light sky to dark twig. Some lenses are worse than others for it.

Didnt notice the green.

Right found the setting was in the second tab, Thanks very much guys.
