Well-I think im going to have some practice photographing little furry things..
After a few days being very restless,our bitch began giving birth a couple of hours ago.
Currently at 6 pups,and pretty sure there are more to follow.
Had major issues with one of the boys,poor little fella couldnt breathe,and had my wife giving it the kiss of life and assisting for a long time...
Fingers crossed he's gonna make it though!
Will post first pics when mum is finished and settled...

What a night...
As a first time mum,she really was very confused by these little bundles,and didnt want them anywhere near her. :(
However,after hours of reassuring her,and making sure all pups got nursed,she is finally beginning to accept them,and is now happily cleaning and nursing them herself. :)
Ended up with 9 little rotties!
5 boys,4 girls.
Now if i knew where my son had put the USB lead,i could upload some pics...
Guess id better wait a few hours before harrasing him-it is 5am... :D

Taken when mother was first nursing pups,pics in whelping pen,taken with a very shaky hand and in a rush! :)
(and excuse the odd blood spot on covers etc-But she had just given birth after all!)

Agreed-Far more intelligent than people give them credit for,and also rather misunderstood by many.

Lovely to see, another rottie fan here. But I got a boxer instead, loving dog but jesus its daft as a brush lol
 
STILL have not got round to getting "proper" pics,but these little blighters keep me busy..
Seemed like a wonderful idea to have the whelping pen in the front room,i mean...How much mess can 9 puppies make right?

They are now really showing their individual characters,and are hilariously good fun to play with.
Got just one pic,grabbed earlier while they were out the back.
Are they getting cute or what? :-

His name is bobbie my daughter has told me.... and he is having a red bed!!!!!!!
 
Do not be fooled!
They are little fluffy cute bundles,who pose beautifully for the camera..
But good lord you should hear them when they decide its time to come out of the pen for some fun chasing those pesky humans feet!
Day 1 of being allowed out of the pen=very shy puppies..
Day 2 was the "recce day",when the little toe rags scoped us out..
From Day 3 onwards-If it moves...Its a viable target for mobbing..
Our poor cats are traumatized-they dont know whats hit them :D
*sigh*
They are lovely though-Gonna miss them soooo much when the time comes for them to go to new homes.
(First one has been reserved already)
