Yes
So I was on flickr and decided it was time for a tidy up, I wanted to delete a few albums but before that I wanted to download a few of my ex girlfriend and her family and pass them onto her.
I then realised that this wasn't possible via flickr and that a 3rd party app was required so I downloaded bulkr and although it works well, it will only download a few albums and they want $30 for the pro version of the app.
I'm happy to pay a fair price for software (I paid a few quid for start8 that is a fantastic app for win 8/ 8.1) but $30 for an app I will only use once or twice is out of the question.
I then try using flickredit but it wont connect to flickr to allow me to authorise access to my flickr account and I keep getting an authentication error.
I've tried it with Win 7 and 8.1, IE and firefox to no avail.
Does anyone know of an app that will bulk download that is either free of cheap?
The only other alternative I can think of is to look for a photo hosting site that allows me to bulk download albums but the idea of starting a fresh and creating new albums would take forever and a day to do.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Just looking at my Bulkr it won't allow me to download at full size without upgrading to Pro but if I select 'Large' it seems it is happy to download everything at that size.

Yes, that is the photos themselves, not the complete albums.

Are you saying you uploaded their photos into flickr albums and now don't have the originals on hard drive?

I do have all the orignal RAW files stored on hard drive and some of the processed images in the albums but not many.
My original thought was that I wouldn't need to keep copies of the resized images locally but that was back in 2008 :D
Sods law that the few albums I want are older and that prevents me from grabbing them via bulkr unless I pay for the pro version.

Keeping an eye on this as I've wanted to download albums but could only do individually

I see what you mean, it's downloaded all of my photos in 'Large' but only offers 10 of my albums available for download.
Unless you have 1000's of images can't you download them and select what you want to give your g/f?

Let me guess....
You also didn't see a reason to keep the processed, cropped images on a hard drive as well? :D :D

Through various pc malfunctions I've lost most images over time lol and don't have an external hd ... Eek :D

EX gf, we split up 4 years ago lol.
I've started to download the individual photos but there are quite a lot of them including her extended family.

call me unpleasant but if shes 4 years Ex why bother .. just delete them

that aside assuming you are a nicer man than me what about neodownloader (Ive used the free version a couple of times - but you can also get a 30 Day free trial of the pay version if you need things the lite version doesnt support) http://www.neodownloader.com/full-vs-lite/

Some of the photos were of her daughters taken on holidays etc, I just thought it would be nice to offer copies of them to her because they are memories.
We never broke up on bad terms so there was no point in just deleting them before asking her.
Anyway, as usual I digress...
I've just had a look and neodownloader and it looks very interesting, I'll give it a go, thanks for that.

Well after trying a few apps I concluse that bulkr: http://clipyourphotos.com/bulkr is the best one.
It intergrates very well with flickr and you can download all of your photos with ease and also a few albums.
However, if you want to download all of your albums, you have to pay $30 for the pro version.
Now, downloading all of our albums is not something we would generally do on a regular basis and I feel as though $30 is a bit too expensive.
I have been in contact with the developer and suggested that with a lower pricing structure, I believe that he could sell a lot more copies to us amateur photographers.
I have also suggested that he could have a free version of pro that has adverts that could potentially generate a good revenue as this is something a lot of small developers are doing.
Try out the free version and post your comments here, personally whenever I have come across a small developer who releases a really good app, I have and always will buy their products if I believe the price is good.
