Public Nudity

Nudity should not be forced on people who don,t want to see it in public places, especially where there are kids running around.:nono::thumbsdown:

Personally, I dont think its a sad state of affairs. Many nude bodies are not attractive to most people. Like it or not but the human mind is designed to be attracted to some things and not others.

Attraction is one thing, but repulsed enough that someone couldn't eat if there was a naked man in the same room?

Why not?

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when people are disgusted by nudity.

I think there are limits to where nudity should be allowed... but on the whole I see no problem with it and people certainly shouldnt be offended.

Although surely men run the risk of 'standing to attention' which could be embaressing!!

Do they also wrap the towel around their genitals to avoid people accidentally touching each other?

How many times have you actually accidentally touched someone's genital area be that clothed or not?

We are heading firmly into the realm of too much information if joe answers that - Personally I don't want to know more about the various times Joe has inappropriately rubbed himself against fellow tube passengers "by accident"

I've never accidentally touched someone's genitals who were unclothed. Thats always been deliberately because the only time I have been unclothed with someone close enough to touch their genitals was because I was having sex with them.

Since I dont hang about in nudist places I havent found myself in a crowded situation where I could accidentally touch someone

However as far as accidentally touching clothed people in inappropriate areas I'm sure its happened many times in crowded places without me realising it. People pushing past often come into close contact. It's inevitable

Coming from the guy who talks about going for a poo on a regular basis!

I see no real problem with it, other than the potential male embarrassment...

what's immature about going for a poo on a regular basis? It's a natural part of being alive.

No but regular threads on the subject are certainly not normal or needed

regular? Not sure when the last comment I made on here about bowel movement was, but I wouldn't say it was a "regular" occurance

some might say the same about jaffa cake related threads - but who am I to judge? Each to their own

anyhow - this is off topic and irrelevant

you do realise kids don't think anything of nakedness

This is so true I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen my little nieces and nephews running around nude, hell I grew up round rugger clubs where the players had an in built propensity for stripping off

and that differs from nudity how ?

And Matt is right about your propensity for discussing what you do in the toilet, times with no paper etc - far more info than anyone else needs. Oversharing being an internet equivalent of public nudity.

(Incidentally you do realise that your most recent user title was directly related to your love of discussing all things excremental , don't you ? )

my oldest is 8 and doesn't care - depends on their environment

and on the attitudes of their parents - if mummy and daddy are uptight about it , it stands to reason that the kids are more likely to equally be so

you're asking me how regularly relieving your bowels is different from public nudity?

Well, regularly relieving your bowels is done outside of public view. Going nude in public is in the public view.

Oversharing being an internet equivalent of public nudity.

Public nudity is something you can't avoid - whereas you are completely free to not read anything I write - including using the ignore feature if desired.

There is no way to press a "public nudity ignore" button if people were wandering around naked - apart from staying in your house with the curtains closed. But thats more the equivalent of not looking at this forum at all rather than instead ignoring the parts you wish not to read about.

as for oversharing - might I point out exhibit a and b?

Yes but the ignore function is useless because you can still see that the moron you've go on ignore has posted and if they get quoted as is often the case with morons that you would like to ignore because often there posts are contentious and require questioning....

I would have no problem with my 5yo seeing nudity. The only issue would be when he shouts out "that man has a big/small/funny willy"!!

and do you have to reply to those 'morons'? Surely you have enough self control to choose to ignore people who you dont want to discuss things with even if you can see their post? Thats not the same as with public nudity - it would be everywhere if people didn't wear clothes

No i'm asking how regularly talking about relieving your bowels is different from public nudity - it seems a little strange that someone can be happy to share the mental image of himself crawling along the landing with a ****** arse, and yet so propper or reserved that he is repulsed by the sight of a naked man.

that aside - just as we can indeed choose to ignore any more oversharing on toilet happenings within the scrivens household, so you could choose not to look at someone walking past naked

As you so brilliantly just proved.

think John Prescott with an erection lol

I'd rather not - although the chances are any errection would be hidden in the rolls of blubber so not actually indecent

Oh am I on your ignore list Ricardo?

I think he meant that Joe is, but because you've just quoted him reading is unavoidable

Well maybe he could let us know if I'm on his list that way I can save myself the time of looking at and offering C&C on his photos

Edit: fair enough looks like I'm not see above post  always good to know :D

Marcel did say a while back they'd suspend anyone bragging that someone else was on his ignore list - so it may not be a great idea to ask ;)

Has anybody asked if they're on anybody's ignore list yet?

;)

indeed, although referring to it as "poo" is a little immature. We can just say defecate.

:D

" as the two freinds wandered home through 100 acre wood, piglet thought to himself how lucky he was to have a freind like defecate "

nah, its not working for me
