Yes
After a few years of standing in the cold and rain at various circuits, I've had some photos published in a magazine and have since been asked to supply more. I have a good letter from the editor, but it seems that I'll need PLI before the circuits will allow me trackside of the fences.
Can anyone recommend a cheap way of getting the insurance? I'll only be needing it for a few weekends of the year, so don't want to spend a fortune.
Cheers

You could try asking the same question on 10 tenths ;)

You'll be needing £5million of liability cover for most UK circuits.
Best of speaking to someone like Simply Business for quote if only needed for selected periods of time. Not that expensive yearly anyway and if you get referred through existing policy holder (like me) we both get £25 back after 30 days of cover.

Thanks for that - will get a quote from them

Read it, I replied to it

Yes, but it does mean I very rarely get to photograph motorsport

Any insurance broker will be able to sort you out, it relative cheap for annual coverage.

If you want £ 25 off your PLI, I've got a link which will help you out. You should be able to get it for about £ 75 (less £ 25 chequeback) = £ 50.00. I get the same discount from my PLI.

I said that first!!

I am insured with cliick, and my policy includes PL cover along with equipment cover.
If you don't have any cover, it might kill 2 birds with 1 policy.

Just renewed mine with Ashburnham Insurance for £47.50 for the year without having to both with any cashback. Bargain! I was with A-N before then who were also pretty good.

Who did you go with in the end? and what swayed you to that decision?

Would you mind me asking how much your paying and is it just PLI your getting or equipment cover aswell?

Have sent you a PM

What is the point of asking a question and expecting answers in a public forum, and then going to PM when you get the answer?
Sort of defeats the object, and leaves you less likely to answers in the future as far as I am concerned.

Because he asked for what I'd paid - and I didn't want it to be public knowledge! Call me old-fashioned, but some things don't need to be aired publicly. In my original post I didn't ask anyone to tell me what they had paid - just to recommend a broker.

But you did ask for recommendations to do it cheaply, as pointed out in your original post.
Therefore cost is one factor in the discussion.
The provider would be the other factor.
There will be members looking at this thread wondering what the cost is, so I would have thought it's relevant?
Even if you don't want the cost "aired in public", there is nothing in the thread which says who you went with either, so no-one is any wiser if in the same position as you were.
All I'm saying is there is no real conclusion to this thread for any-one with the same question as you originally posted.

Like a dog with a bone eh?
Yes I did ask for recommendations, and I got recommendations publicly (anyone else can read them) - but I didn't ask anyone what they had paid did I? You may be happy letting everyone know the ins and outs of your financial dealings, but I'm not.
I have no intention of making the premium public - so if other members do think it's relevant, they can ask the other posters in this thread what they paid, perhaps they will get a public answer, perhaps through a PM as I did.
You have already stated that you are insured, so I have no idea why you are so interested in my cover.
Who's to say I went with any of the recommendations on here? You imply that there was only a choice of 2 with your wording (either).
Perhaps I don't want to implicate or involve a 3rd party (publicly) in the discussion as to who I went with?
Why are you so concerned?
